New Rising

Raine walked up and pounded her fist on his chest. "Cause you won't do a damn thing about it!" she backed away and shook her head. "And I thought you the wiser of the two."

"I am. But I dont see any way around it without ruining Sam's chances with the crew." Kote responded.

Raine sighed and leaned against his house, "From what I've seen of both of you... are you sure he's not the one with the demon heart?"

"He cares about a lot more than I do. I want this to work, and I care about you. That's all I can handle. Sam has the heart enough to care for that whole group, even the ones that wanted to kill him, and help them all." He sat down in one of his chairs. "He has a bigger heart."

Raine laughed, "Of all the time I have upset you, you haven't lost control. He may have a bigger heart but he also has more anger." Raine almost said evil but thought it contradictory to earlier statements made. She put her face in her hands and took a deep breath. "This was all so stupid from the start."

~Talyn nods~ "the planar tunnel is not so long dear hiro..please i beg you, push on just a little further" ~she replies, she did not want to get stuck between planes, she had forced illithids into the same fate once...she did not want to join them~

Kote shrugged. "I know, but that's because I simply didnt need to be angry with you."

Hiro nodded slowly and picked up his two companions, slowly making his way closer to the end of the tunnel. "I sure hope you're right..."

"Tis not so far Hiro...please....im weakening as we speak...my own energy keeps this tunnel open.. and now with two others...i drain all the faster"

Hiro nodded and sped up. "It'd be better if you didnt have to stab me in the side... I could move faster if I wasnt just recently cauterized." He limped faster and grunted moving through the portal quickly dropping to the ground pushing Sam and Talyn out in front of him. "Owww..."

Raine laughed, "At times you still were though..."

"Only because I wanted you to think I was. I assure you, I was never actually angry, even when I was pushing you all to fight my demons or such." Kote shrugged.

Raine nodded a little and sat waiting a moment before speaking. "And why did I get the medallion before?"

~tired and still hurting Talyn barely even lets out a whimper as she hits the ground. they had safely made it back to their own plane, though all three were a little worse for the wear. the two females were still asleep and talyn was greatfull for that because it kept the explanations at bay, for the time being~

Hiro groaned as he sat back, sitting Sam gently inbetween the two females, chuckling a little as they snuggled into his sides. "It's going to be a hard time explaining why a full greater demon is here..." he said softly as he sat Talyn up and leaned her against a tree. "That and how they all fell asleep so easily."

Kote blinked and looked around. "Sam's back... is it just me or does he feel different? I know you can sense it too... maybe we should go see what's happening with them."

"I..." Raine stammered. "But you didn't answer my que.." she stopped again. "See Sam? Now? But I thought you didn't want to meet up with them till they were at the castle. Are you still going to act like Kote the badguy or Kote the changed?" she laughed a little.

Kote seemed to be oblivious to Raine's earlier question as he turned. "I guess I'd have to be Kote the changed... I mean, you're with me, and I've got Naomi on my side as well... but we cant stay, I dont want the Demon Lord finding out. So whaddya say? Wanna go see if Sam's gotten laid yet?" he smirked.

Raine laughed. "Or a better idea. I could act like I had changed sides, It'd be more believable at this point and you'd get to keep your plans for now. I mean... I'm angry at Sam because he hurt me. So I side with you." She shrugged. "Sounds reasonable doesn't it?"

"Actually it kinda does, but that doesnt really explain why we'd show up now does it?" Kote looked a little apprehensive.

"Boast." Raine chuckled. "You aren't thinking evil, are you?" she sighed. "It's you who has the human brain. I don't care what you say. You're evil side is very inactive. Be more tactful!" she playfully punched him in the arm. "Deal?"

"Hai hai..." Kote laughed a little and shrugged, holding out his hand. "Shall we go then? I'll get into character."

Raine smiled and nodded, grabbing Kote's hand. "And I as well." she stuck her chin up. "I'm evil now."

Kote had to stifle a grand laugh and nodded as they disappeared, reappearing outside the campfire of the group. "It's good always knowing where he is isnt it?"

Hiro turned and stared straight at them, his battle hardened reflexes keen to their arrival, sending a clear shiver up Kote's spine. "Come out before I light you both on fire to see who you are..." he said quietly, yet in a way that they could hear every word.

Raine looked at Kote, questioningly. "Who's this showoff?"

"He's a demon... and it looks like he's on watch... or everyone's just asleep." Kote smiled as he saw Sam inbetween Naomi and Reya. "Sam seems to be doing just fine." He walked into the firelight and bowed to the greater demon, one with immense power. "My name is Kote, Sam's other half."

Hiro smirked. "Ah, I remember you. The demonic faker correct? You know of the prophecy as well?"

Kote looked shocked and nodded. "Yes... but who... who are you?"

"I am Hiro, hero of many realms and vanquisher of Erttu the greater demon. I take a demonic form because it is the only body I can maintain. I was a part of Sam, and I took Erttu's body so that I could live with Talyn, the one propped against the tree. She has suffered much."

"Well damn... that's pretty epic." Kote voiced.

Raine stifled a laugh and followed to stand by Kote, reluctantly. Being in the open with that group and along with those new strangers felt odd to her and she once more wanted to blanket herself in darkness to hide.
